The compliance triggers

Three pressures reshaping the Ghanaian finance stack.

01 / GRA e-VAT

Ghana Revenue Authority e-invoicing

02 / SSNIT

Statutory pension contributions

5.5% employee, 13% employer on basic salary. Configured as Salary Components posting to dedicated payable accounts every run.

03 / Ghana IFRS

IFRS-ready filings above GHS 5M

Chart of accounts built for IFRS presentation. Disclosure-grade lines across receivables, payables, inventory, and fixed assets. Audit-ready trial balance.

Questions from Ghanaian operators

What we hear most from Finance Directors in Accra.

ERPNext produces invoices in the structural format GRA requires for electronic VAT. Direct API integration with GRA's portal depends on the current state of GRA's integration gateway, which we verify in the discovery phase and document the submission pathway for. Configuration of the invoice format and tax templates is fully within ERPNext native capability.
SSNIT is configured as Salary Components: 5.5% employee deduction and 13% employer contribution on basic salary. These post to the correct SSNIT payable accounts on each payroll run. Tier 2 and Tier 3 pension schemes are configured as additional components on request.
Yes. Multi-currency is a native ERPNext feature. Purchase orders in USD, invoicing in GHS, with exchange rate management handled by ERPNext's foreign currency revaluation. Bank accounts denominated in each currency are configured separately.
We have reference configurations from comparable trading, distribution, and agri-export businesses. Three of them are profiled in the reference engagements section above — multi-currency setup, GRA e-VAT invoicing, SSNIT payroll, and IFRS-ready accounts. A Ghana-specific published write-up is in progress. Book a call to discuss the configuration patterns directly.
All engagements are billed in USD. Raenest Business handles international receipts. Ghanaian clients with USD business accounts can transfer directly.
